Traditional Feel (using DAS technology) --

What is DAS and why do I care?

              DAS (Dual Assisted Stroke technology) is the latest innovation here at The Neutrino Group.  It's a new design for how a steno machine should and can work.  DAS provides a traditional steno machine feel and articulated stroke like you're used to, but it still gives you an ergonomic benefit which you can't get on any other machine. 

              We created DAS to minimize or eliminate the transition period that the old Gemini used to have.  We've eliminated that transition by moving from our old vertical keystroke to the articulated keystroke used on other machines. 

Now with an UMPC --

UMPC??? 

            Yup, that is correct.  We are using an UMPC.  I bet you’re wondering what that is.  UMPC stand for ultra-mobile PC and an ultra-mobile PC is defined as a PC that weighs less than two pounds, runs a full operating system, and can fit in your purse or even your pocket, if you get a small enough UMPC.  Now with that said, I will cover why they are better. 

            In our court reporter’s machine of old we used a PDA (personal digital assistant) to store your notes.  And while they are incredibly lightweight and we will continue to offer them, we have upgraded our new Gemini Revolution Court Reporter’s package to include an UMPC.  You even have your choice of color and model to choose from.  These UMPCs provide you, the user, with the largest LCD screen on any machine, the brightest picture, and most storage space of any writer, all while functioning just like your laptop. They all run windows XP (upgradeable* to Vista in the future). 

So what, you use an UMPC.  What does it really matter?

              Now, you know we wouldn’t just say we do something without giving you something magnificent, so here is the kicker.  Because we have gone to an UMPC you can now run your CAT software on your Steno Machine.  Yup, that's right, your CAT software.  You will have not only your dictionary, your rules, macros, etc., but you will get all of the power that your software offers, including but not limited to high-quality audio recording, superior transcript production, litigation support, as well as any other feature your CAT company offers.  The only catch is that you have a secondary CAT software key and it is either software-based or a USB key. 

             For those of you who don't have a secondary key, no worries.  We have rewritten our StenoSync Software suite and it now includes translation, time stamping, audio recording, and an amazing set of drills, as well as integrated how-to videos and a powerful media player for video and audio recording.  This software comes free of charge with the Gemini Revolution Court Reporter’s package.

Why is this an improvement?

                 While the Gemini Piper with the Plus keyboard offered different depths of stroke and the ability to adjust the amount of force, those adjustments had to be preformed by a qualified technician.  With the Revolution every adjustment can now be made by you, the user, in only a matter of seconds, giving you unlimited freedom and improved customizability. 

Integrated Dual Bluetooth Connectivity --

Integrated Class 1 Dual Bluetooth, huh?

               We will start with Class 1 Bluetooth.  This is a superior product to Class 2 Bluetooth.  The power output of Class 1 vs. Class 2 is 18 times greater.  This is a good thing.  It can extend your wireless range up to 10 times what a Class 2 device is rated for. The Gemini Revolution is the only Class 1 Bluetooth device in the industry.  Our range is rated to 328 feet or over the length of a football field.  This improves your reception and transmission not only in open space but also in stone and buildings with lots of metal, like office buildings. 

              Dual Bluetooth is a unique feature and the first of its kind anywhere.  We have figured out a way to make a single Bluetooth writer talk to two computers at the same time.  This amazing feature enables us to output two completely separate steno streams simultaneously.  This is a benefit because you can now output wirelessly to both the UMPC and your laptop, to your scopist’s machine, or a secondary computer for real-time transcript production.  And those computers can be up to 328 feet away!  Honestly, you have to see this to believe it. 

Integrated Audio Recording --

             The Gemini Revolution now offers integrated audio recording (only on the court reporter’s model using the UMPC).  This audio recording not only offers the best sound quality, but with at least a 30 gig hard drive you can record hours and hours of it as well. Our machine also offers an external speaker so that you can play back without having to use ear phones, although they are still available as well.

Serial and USB** Connections --

Serial and USB connections?  Why do I want those and how are they different from past Gemini machines?

           The Gemini Revolution now offers both serial and USB wired connections as well as the dual Class 1 Bluetooth.  The addition of a USB connector now allows the Gemini to output via a cable and even receive power from that USB cable in the event your batteries are dead and you don't have access to a power supply.  The USB connection will do away with your need to carry a serial-to-USB adaptor and help minimize the amount of cables in your bag.

Ultra-Long Life Lithium Ion Batteries --          (40+*** hours on a single charge)

          The Gemini Revolution offers improved run time in our batteries.  We have improved the run time to over 40 hours.  Yup, that's correct, 40+ hours on a single charge.  By utilizing an ultra-efficient processor and sensor technology we have been able to increase the battery life from 12 hours to 40 hours. 

Lightest Full-Functioning Machine on the Market (approximately 2.5-4.5 lbs. Depending on the option you choose.) --

          Even with all of the improvements to the Gemini Revolution we have been able to lessen your burden further by providing you the lightest and smallest full-functioning machine on the market.  Yup, it is true, we rock!

          We have even increased our color selection from 21 to 30.  Thirty colors are almost ridiculous, but you asked for more selection, so we gave it to you.
